Light fall-offConditions: Camera: Nikon N80 Lens: Nikkor 80-200/2.8, latest 2 touch version with tripod mount. Bought new on 07/24/01. Hood: HB-7 Metering: Matrix metering with Aperture priority mode. Focal Length: 200mm. All shots were taken at 200mm. Film: Fuji Velvia Notes: All shots were taken on a sunny afternoon (1pm) of a clear blue sky, sun was behind me and I took all these shots in less than 1 minutes to minimize the factor of changing light. As one can clearly see, there is a noticeable light fall-off in the f/2.8 to f/5.6 range. Now I don't know if this is normal with all 80-200 lenses, but I seriously don't like this and didn't expect this from Nikon's so much 'acclaimed' lens. After getting opinions of many users of this lens, I found that this is normal behavior of this lens and this light fall-off is "normal". Please send me your suggestions Thanks Rohit |
